so, the tickets for ODD NOSDAM are going fast. you can come by the shop and pick one up or give us a call and we can do it over the phone.. also, we’ve just added a few shows to our schedule (MALCOLM HOLCOMBE for instance!!) and we’re gonna start listing other shows of interest around town, not just the shows at our shop. we hope you’re all doing well and to see you soon.

say goodbye to 641…
…west king street… and HELLO to 691 west king street!!!
that’s right true believers, we’re moving on up – the street. the same street. the same side of the street. just up the block really.. not even that far. if kevin were to walk out of our current location and i was standing outside the new location (right beside our bootylicious neighbors at lucky penny & shear shakti) i could throw a rock and hit him with it. i’d say that he could do the same, but he throws like a girl.. a girl who cannot throw. or like a boy who can’t throw. he’s punk rock guys, give him a break.
which leads me to these FAQs:::::
1. will we keep the name of our store the same? ANSWER:: yes.
2. really? that’s weird. ANSWER:: yes, really. and it’s not that weird. most folks don’t even know that the name of our shop stems from the address of the mini-mall that we’ve called home for nearly a year now (and which has housed a music shop of one kind or another for 30+ years). so, to most, our name is just a cryptic play on REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE. but, to those sly folk out there that are aware of our namesake, we promise it won’t make any difference after the dust settles. it’ll just be weird if you think about it. so, don’t think about it. just let it ride. PLUS, we’ve already stitched the name into our underwear.. and no one’s stealing my underwear!!
3. why move? ANSWER:: the answer to that question is multi-faceted and not really worth the precious and limited space of the internet. but, if you’re really curious, come by and talk to us about it and we’ll fill you in. with that stated, we assure you it is for the best. the best for us as a business and for you, our dearest of friends and customers.
4. will 641 still be putting on shows? ANSWER:: yes and no. we won’t be able to host the loud, rowdy shows that we’ve held at the store in the past.. we’re moving into close quarters, in a nicer building and closer to living quarters so we have to respect our neighbors and their right to a peaceful existence. BUT, and this is the BIGBIGBIGBIG news… ready? ready for it??? i don’t know if you are.. ok. here it is
our friends at BLACK CAT BURRITO are opening their doors and allowing 641rpm to present shows there!! AND they’re gonna allow entry for 18+ folks.. now, i know that this is exciting for you guys who are too young to go to the bar and too old to hang out in the ball pit at burger king (does the boone burger king actually have a ball pit?) BUT, the true excitement should be felt by those of you who were around in the salad days of boone nightlife when, on any given night, you could walk into black cat and see a show, hang with your amigo/as and have a dang good time. soooooooooo, excitement for everyone!!
we’ve gotta few shows of note coming up..
TOMORROW NIGHT thursday 6/24 @ 641rpm
